Born and raised in a backward region of Chhattisgarh, Dr. K. K. Goyal studied in modest government schools — far from the academic resources that many students take for granted today. With no mentors or counselors to guide him in the late 1970s, he carved his own path to success with sheer determination and hard work.
Despite these challenges, he cracked the tough entrance to IIT Kharagpur, later completing his Ph.D. in Entrepreneurial Success. He went on to serve in the Ministry of MSME, Government of India for nearly 35 years in senior roles, supporting entrepreneurship across the country.
Throughout his journey, one feeling stayed with him:
“I could have achieved even more if only I had the right guidance at the right time.”
That thought became the seed for Ambication — a platform he envisioned to guide students through global education with ease and confidence.
From Top of the Class to the Top of the World
Abhishek Goyal
Growing up in Delhi and studying in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Abhishek was always a sincere, intelligent, and modest student — the kind who topped his class but never stopped learning or helping others.
He graduated from the prestigious Delhi College of Engineering in 2011 and was placed in BHEL, where his brilliance and work ethic stood out. He was handpicked by the Executive Director to work on special projects and was twice honored as the Best Employee. He mentored his peers, gave technical presentations, and displayed maturity beyond his years. But he had a dream — to study at one of the world’s top universities. Even in a metropolitan city like Delhi, reliable guidance was hard to find.
He visited multiple foreign education consultants, spent a lot of money, contacted friends abroad, and self-researched extensively. Eventually, his perseverance paid off — he received admits from six top universities in the US and UK, and chose University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he earned two master’s degrees with a perfect 4.0/4.0 GPA. He was even selected as the International Student Ambassador of the university. After working in the US for three years, he got into the prestigious INSEAD Business School in France (ranked among the top MBA programs globally), and later worked in Dubai and the Middle East for another three years.
In 2022, Abhishek returned to India — with global education, international work experience, and a mission:
To help Indian students achieve what he and his father had to struggle for — world-class education with clarity and confidence. This shared vision gave birth to Ambication — a platform built with personal experience, professional expertise, and a deep commitment to students’ futures.
